Hypoglycemia can be caused by overconsumption of alcohol, or a lack of food. That could relate to the party lyrics.

To act like a hotel guest would be to destroy a place and leave messes without restraint or care for the consequences.
‘Wake up Monday, now it’s over’ is similar to the title of the album, Wake Up & It’s Over.

When Wilbur says, ‘she’s an artist, paints across my chest,’ I’m fairly sure that it’s a sexual reference, comparing the smearing of paint to intimate touching. (Reminds me of finger painting…) He continues that reference throughout the verse. He’s fantasizing about how they could be, if this girl were to get together with him, or how that fleeting relationship you mention made him feel.

He lives your own life in retrospect
You know it bores me? His insecurities
Breaks you down just to act as the architect
I could wait here, by the west pier
Watch the flotsam float, slowly disappear

this entire verse references that mysterious first-verse-man, who could be the girl’s (who Wil’s character is stalking…) ex, who then later k… himself, possibly jumping into the o…? Implied by watching the flotsam float.

I don’t know if you as a reporter are that interested, but to understand Lovejoy lyrics and characters, it helps to reference Wilbur Soot’s stand-alone projects, which have similar characters and motifs.

Don’t know if this’ll get noticed LOL
