DISAPPOINTED Lyrics Meaning

Let’s learn the meaning behind the lyrics of the song ‘DISAPPOINTED’ by Stormzy section-wise.

[Verse]

Part I

Cadell is a fellow grime artist and half brother to the main man of grime, Wiley, of which this diss-track is intended for. Stormzy is assumably instilling that he and Wiley met face to face with each other at a concert in the lyrics. However, regardless of the problems that Wiley had with Stormzy, Wiley was comfortable to attract Stormzy on-stage instead of supporting his own brother. This was a major red flag that Stormzy couldn’t get through. Apparently, Wiley’s dad was frustrated by the absolute lack of loyalty in his son for his own half-brother.

Part II

Stormzy points out the biggest no’s that he follows on a regular. To disrespect somebody by bringing the unimaginable situation with their mother doesn’t deserve applause. This is something that weak people do to win a situation that they have no control over. He says he has taken his insults as jokes and then goes on to expose him for the use of nar***ics and other illicit d***s.

Part III

The rapper Stormzy is asserting that establishing controversy between the two musical sensations is clearly a strategy of developing publicity. The more tension there is, the more people will discover that Wiley has an album release on its way. As a result, this drama between the two will help Wiley profit off of his nee album as people will be interested in listening to what he has to say.

Part IV

Near the end of the track, Stormzy points out the things he despises, especially when they are coming from Wiley. He says he doesn’t like Wiley doing nar***ics and giving big talks in the influence over social media. The rapper doesn’t like disrespecting his mother to win an argument. On top of that, he doesn’t like Wiley abandoning his own brother to get attention from someone bigger. Every little thing about Wiley is making him disappointed!

Conclusion: DISAPPOINTED Meaning Stormzy

Stormzy has tried his best to show his disappointment in Wiley who he once adored and respected.
