Kanye West & Lil Pump ft. Adele Givens – I Love It Lyrics Review
An unlikely collaboration, i.e. Kanye West & Lil Pump, in a song ‘I Love It’ is making headlines. According to Genius Lyrics, ‘I Love It’ is a song about sexual preferences of the respective artists involved in the making of the song. The lines by Lil Pump were orchestrated within fifteen minutes on the eighteenth birthday of Lil Pump. Let’s review the lyrics of the song ‘I Love It’ by Kanye West & Lil Pump ft. Adele Givens.
Introduction
To add another layer of insanity to the existence of the song, I Love It, it was premiered at the Pornhub Awards. The theme of the song matches the niche of Pornhub. Due to this reason, Kanye West is presumed to have had quite a bit of directorial influence on the track. Let’s review the lyrics of the new single, I Love It, by Kanye West & Lil Pump ft. Adele Givens step by step.
[Intro: Adele Givens]
Adele Givens starts off the song by comparing society in older days with today’s society. Back in the day, people couldn’t admit their sexual orientation and they had to fake having fun with their partners. But as of now, society has taken a big turn and we can make love with whoever we want these days.
[Verse 1: Lil Pump]
‘Water’ is slang for the diamonds. Lil Pump has been extremely public about his love for diamonds. The biggest Lil Pump hits such as ‘Gucci Gang’ and ‘Esskeetit’ have references for the diamonds. In the first verse of the song, Lil Pump basically shows off his success. The fact that he doesn’t need to worry about money and time has been sung throughout the first verse.
[Chorus: Lil Pump & Kanye West]
In an interview, Lil Pump revealed that the idea of an obnoxious chorus was provided by Kanye West. The chorus sounds annoying due to the lines and due to an extra autotune effect for the refrain. However, the chorus provides a good interlude to the verses and has contributed a lot to the meme community.
[Verse 2: Kanye West]
Let’s review the lyrics in the second verse of the song ‘I Love It’ by Kanye West & Lil Pump.
The lines by Kanye are pretty funny. It is evident that he is trying to troll with his audience at this point. Kanye shows off his financial capabilities and lures his partner into expensive cars, the plastic surgeries and all so as to get his sexual thirst quenched in his lines.
Analysis
Opinion I
The first realization that struck me after listening to the song is that the song exists in the world now and this is real life. There are a few elements about the track that I really like in this track. Some of the Kanye lyrics are pretty funny. From the directorial aspect, Kanye’s fingerprint is seen to be all over the place in making of this track from production to the video presentation.
Opinion II
The music video of the song ‘I Love It’ is easily the most entertaining thing of the whole presentation. Kanye and Lil Pump look like Roblux or a Minecraft character. The color palette in the music video is memorable. The music video is presented as Kanye West and Lil Pump marching down the hall following Adele Givens in a weird and creepy way.
Opinion III
The song and the music video are intentionally very trashy. The song is undoubtedly one of the hottest pieces of trash we’ve heard in a long time. The refrain of the song backed up by autotune is annoying. Lil Pump’s verse is generic and boring. Lil Pump doesn’t really give much to the track other than his name and the fact that he is in the song.
Conclusion
Opinion I
The beat and the baseline almost reminds me of Kanye’s ‘The Life of Pablo’. But the song isn’t quite there in terms of quality songwriting. However, the effects and extra vocal embellishments in the song sound very interesting. Mostly, the track feels very tongue in cheek, very ironic. Although, the song is pretty sexual and at the end of the day, it is still entertaining.
Opinion II
Sonically, the song ‘I Love It’ is more annoying than enjoyable. The packaging of the music video along with the track turns the obnoxious edge of the song off. On top of everything, the complete package of the song adds extra but essential elements of humor for the audience to swallow the song without gagging.
Personal Take
I give ‘I Love It’ by Kanye West, Lil Pump ft. Adele Givens a decent 06/10 in the Lyrics Review category. Even though the song is not radio-friendly, the song is funny and is entertaining.
